My first tutorial! I know that Instagram has lots of pictures on this (and the web), but anyway, I'm going to leave my version of the tutorial up here on my blog.
I decided to do this tutorial because I see a lot of scrunchies out there in accessory shops going at SGD$5, and it's really a rip-off if you can use the things you already have in the comfort of your own home. Why spend the money when you don't really need it? (This does NOT apply to me buying new clothes. HAHAHA)
PS. Excuse my shades and looks. It was another lazy day. Oh, and my camera was having a PMS day.
First off! What you will need:
I like to use my knee-length/thigh highs for this bun because it really adds A LOT of volume to my hair, and I love those really big buns. Longer/thicker socks will really give your hair the volume it needs to get the big bun look.
Also, I suggest picking a sock color that's relatively close to that of your hair's, so it won't be too obvious if it shows.
After step 3, your hair should look something like this:
As you can see, the sock already adds extra height to the ponytail. If you don't like the height/width of your sock around your ponytail, change it because this is THE thing that gives your bun the structure it needs.
Ok. I know I didn't show you what I did in Step 5, but basically, I coated the entire sock with my hair by spreading my hair around the sock. The main thing you have to note is that there are no openings to show your sock underneath!
Then clip it or shove it in the rubber band, whichever works for you! Personally, I like to use the clip.
I like my hair a bit messy, so I tend to let a few loose ends around the bun as well.
My outfit for the tutorial:
Bart Simpson Denim Outerwear from BUTTEREDGUN
Round Sunglasses from ASOS
Spaghetti Strap from Forever 21
Hope all of you enjoyed this tutorial! I really love this bun because it really adds to the whole indie, grunge, rock-chic look I always wear!
Till next time.

Ombréd purple
So you see, recently, I headed to town to grab a gift for a friend.
BUT, thanks to my fashion roots and attentive eyes, I ended buying a whole loot of stuff. (FINE, it wasn't THAT many...)
In my defence, the top in my outfit today was a necessary buy because I had to finish my TopShop gift card by 1 March, and that was pretty much the only thing I really wanted - Plus, it was on sale.
Outfit: Ombré Cut-out Shoulder Sweater from TopShop, Black Framed Shades from Forever 21, Gray Suede Ankle Boots from Nine West (Outlet), Gold Lined Leggings from Wasabees, Kitty Beanie from Qoo10.sg
At first I was wondering if I should use shorts instead of leggings, but the leggings match this look PERFECTLY.
I was feeling lazy, so I used the shades to cover my face instead of spending time to do my makeup. I fell in love with the ombré top the instant I saw it on the rack in TopShop, but sadly, it didn't come in my size.
After much deliberation, I concluded that the bigger size would give me a sloppy, baggy, grunge look that's really easy to wear on lazy days. The best thing about it is probably the fact that I can eat anything I want in that outfit and not worry about my increasing tummy size showing.
Also, this oversized sweater instantly gives me the rights to wear leggings with it (instead of topping with a skirt or shorts) because it acts as a bit of a micro-mini dress.
In conclusion, I really love this look and will definitely be doing this look again!
Hoped you like this look as much as I did!

Milan Fashion Week - Fall 2013: Versace Vunk
After watching a documentary on Versace days before Milan Fashion Week, I started paying more attention to Versace's Fall 2013 designs this time round.
For the upcoming fall, Versace has defined their collection to be 'Vunk', which also translates to Versace + Punk. I must say, I do love Versace's version of punk. I'd wear almost the ENTIRE line from next season if I could actually afford it.
Not to mention, next season's looks from Versace scream Donatella Versace's charisma together with Versace's distinct style they've built over the years. Seems like next season's designs are as spunky as Donatella Versace herself. I'm completely in love with it.
Less talk! Here are some of the designs I've fallen in love with as I looked through Versace's upcoming fall collection:
Who knew plaid could be so versatile? I definitely didn't think of plaid as much until this collection. (Unless you're talking about plaid in the grunge/indie/rocker chic sense)
Versace's fall collection are full of punk, yet completely classy and chic.
You know, I daresay Versace is my favorite brand with regards to collections this fall. Then again, this IS Versace we're talking about.

Oz The Great and Powerful
I'm a movie fanatic. I love watching movies, and since this week is Recess Week, there is ONE movie that I've been dying to watch since I first saw the trailer:
I've always loved the Spiderman Trilogy (although it veered away from the original) and I got really psyched when I heard that Sam Raimi (Director of the Spiderman Trilogy) directed Oz The Great and Powerful as well!
The best reason I can have for wanting to watch this is probably because it's by Disney. Yes, I'm doing the Disney talk again. Disney has been the producer of a lot of my favorite films that have accompanied me throughout the years. From Jungle Book, to The Little Mermaid, to The Lion King and more recently, Wreck-It Ralph, Disney has never disappointed me when it comes to the movie department.
I'm a Disney girl. What more reason do I need to watch this movie?!
In fact, I'm so inspired by Oz The Great and Powerful that I did a (mini) outfit post to suit this movie! (as you can see from the start of the post)
The Oscar Diggs Outfit:
Mini Briefcase from Dionne (Birthday Gift, so I have no clue where to get it!)
Long Blazer from Forever 21
Spaghetti Strap from Forever 21
Black Polka-Dot Bowtie from Forever 21
Round Sunglasses from ASOS
The quirky dressing in the movie really prompted me to give a twist on my own version of Oz The Great and Poweful. Since I've never really been a girly girl, I decided to take on the role of Oscar Digs (the female version), completing the look with a bowtie and briefcase.
I couldn't find a top hat at home when I was shooting, so I tried out the 'sock' bun to give my head a boost in place of Oscar Diggs' (Wizard of Oz) hat.
PLUS, I really noticed how Oscar Diggs helped this brave doll (called China Doll) and she started following him around, so I used my Joker Teddy to substitute to China Doll! I think my Teddy adds a bit of an eerie-feel and more of the movie into my outfit! Hm. Seems like Teddy's a good fashion accessory...
Aww. I love you Teddy. You're not just a prop.
As for how much I want to watch this movie:
It's off the charts!
With its Alice in Wonderland-like graphics and snippets of action scenes, the trailer already did a great job of trapping me in the version of Oz they created, and I can't wait to immerse myself in Oz and Oscar Diggs' journey once the movie hits theaters! If you're living on a little red dot like I am, Oz The Great and Powerful will be in cinemas 7 MARCH. Mark the date on your calender NOW! This movie is a MUST-WATCH.
Remember to check out Oz The Great and Powerful's official pages in Singapore here:
Official Facebook Page: http://www.facebook.com/disneystudiosSG
Official YouTube Channel: http://www.youtube.com/disneystudiosSG
Official Twitter Account: http://www.twitter.com/disneystudiosSG
In the meantime, I'm flying in my balloon to Oz.

Rockstar Day-Out
The Day's Outfit:
Gray Printed Tank from TopShop
Black/Gray Denim Shorts from ASOS.com
Studded Military Jacket from Forever 21 (Get Product Here)
Black Retro Square-Framed Sunglasses from Forever 21 (Get Product Here)
Gray Suede Ankle Boots from Nine West (Outlet)
Black Multi-Chain Cross Necklace from Shanghai
You may have seen this outfit off Instagram (ie. Here, Here) and I know I'm late in posting this, but hey, I have to pace my blog posts!
Ok. Back to business. I really, really, REALLY love (I can't emphasize more) this outfit. I feel that the faux leather and my multi-chain necklace really gave the outfit the oomph it needed to be rock-chic. I seriously felt likeI could rock out in that outfit. #RockstarGlam
The best part about this outfit is probably the fact that I can change it up slightly, or throw it on really quickly without much of a hassle. I really think the jacket was the determining factor of this outfit. (Not that I'm complaining since I love the jacket to death.)
The way this outfit works severly inspires me to get more printed tanks. In the meantime, I'm off to buy some tights from ASOS to turn my wardrobe into an indie/grunge/rock-chic warehouse.
Wish me luck (with my budget)!

Music Review: A New Tomorrow
What's a music junkie's greatest joy? More music. Duh.
Imagine my joy when I have more bands following me as time passes? I'm beyond happy.
Most of the bands I've reviewed are from the Americas, so I'm psyched that today's band is from London. The last time I've been in London was 8 years ago, but I think bands always bring different styles that excite me. Makes me want to visit the world musically actually.
I'm digressing. I should really be talking about A New Tomorrow.
To some extent, I feel that One Direction has become so big that they're probably one of the first bands you'll listen to that you forget the presence of rock bands in London itself.
I kinda liked 'What They Can't Steal From You' by A New Tomorrow. What sucks is that they don't have a full version of the song on youtube, so here's the closest snippet of the song off their channel:
You'll really have to check out their website for the full song.
On the other hand, they do have one song on youtube and it's called Brighter than the Sun! Do check this out!
I'll be honest here, here's where I think the band stands at the moment:
Before you stop caring about them, LISTEN.
A New Tomorrow isn't bad. They just haven't really blown me off my feet yet. I feel that What They Can't Steal From You, Love Utopia and Brighter than the Sun are songs that are kinda good, but not exactly there yet.
Ugh. Where's my vocabulary when I need it! I think the band is definitely going in the right direction with their music, but I just feel that I can't exactly connect with the songs just yet. It's like, I like the song, but I don't think it's fantastic.
To A New Tomorrow if you chance this page: I don't mind if you hate this review because I gave you a lousy rating. This is really my honest opinion of what I hear from you. Music can always be improved, bands always mature. I'm sure A New Tomorrow can be great, just now may not be the time yet. Please don't kill me for this, but keep reading my blog!
PS. Everyone is free to tweet me or email me if you think I'm wrong about the band.
